They met at St. Paul’s. He was a retreat coordinator, and she was a retreat volunteer. They began dating, but not long after, Sam moved back home to the Twin Cities. He told his mom that they would either break up, or he would move back to Madison and they would soon be engaged. Well, as it turns out… Sam did move back to Madison. He got an engineering job in Madison, and they DID get engaged! And now here they are, a year and a half later, entering the sacrament of marriage and becoming witnesses to the world of God’s love.
Sam and Ana are such a special couple. They are both so deeply rooted in their faith and love for Christ and each other. Both of their dads, Ana’s sister, Sam’s brother, and Father Eric all shared beautiful words that spoke to their faith both as individuals and as a couple. It was so evident to everyone there that this is a couple who will spend their marriage striving to lead each other to sainthood.
The entire day was filled with so much love, joy, beauty, and FUN! It was truly an incredible experience to capture Ana and Sam’s wedding day!!
Ana and Sam, may God bless you and your marriage and shower you with abundant grace!
Congratulations!!
Ana got to carry her Grandma’s prayer book down the aisle. I love when such special heirlooms are incorporated into such a sacred day!
Ana also wore the cross necklace that she wore as a little girl at her First Communion!
There is a photo on display inside the Union of a couple on their wedding day which Ana really likes. This next image is our attempt at recreating it, and I think we nailed it!
Sam and his mom had one of the most unique first dances I have seen! Sam’s dad played Edelweiss on the guitar and sang it along with Sam’s nieces and nephews. It was such a sweet moment!
A little into the night, Ana’s dad and brother had the crowd going wild when they took the stage to perform together with the band!! They both played electric guitar while her dad sang! They were incredible!!
